   Who is doing the injecting, and what’s their license?

   Injectors are usually MDs, DOs, PAs, nurse practitioners or RNs, and the rules vary by state. Ask for your injector’s name and look them up on your state board’s license search before you book.

   Which product, and how many units or syringes?

   Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Juvederm and Restylane are different products at different prices. A good clinic tells you exactly what’s going in, how much, and records it after every visit.

   Is the price per unit or per area?

   Per-area pricing can hide under-dosing. Ask for the per-unit or per-syringe price so you can compare quotes like for like. A price far below local benchmarks is a reason to ask more questions, not a bargain.

   Can I see before-and-afters of your own work?

   Look for photos taken in matching light that show the kind of result you actually want. If every patient looks the same, the injector may not tailor results to the face in front of them.

   For filler: is there a reversal agent on site?

   Hyaluronic-acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase (such as Hylenex) if something goes wrong. A careful clinic keeps it on hand and will tell you so without hesitating.
